WORKING AT NOC
Since 1972, Nantahala Outdoor Center has welcomed hard-working individuals to serve our mission: Leaders in Outdoor Adventure.
We strive for excellence each day through the use of our five Core Values . With employees that Lead By Example, put Service Before Self, Do The Right Thing, Make It Happen, and (of course) Work Hard and Play Hard, we have cultivated a work experience like no other.
Whether you are splashing down one of our world-class rivers guiding raft trips, soaring sky-high leading zip line excursions, selling the best outdoor gear at one of our retail locations, or keeping guests inspired for their next adventure, the NOC work experience offers leadership, confidence, and fulfillment for our employees. If you are looking for a job the blends work and play, NOC is for you!

ABOUT NOC STAFF
NOC employees come from all walks of life and bring unique skills to their career development.
Here are a couple of our favorite NOC career stories:
Jae Jackson
Jae is NOC's Paddling School Guest Relations Manager as the first point of contact for canoe or kayak guests seeking instruction. In staff meetings, she's often put on the spot when NOC's leadership team reads guest comments about her – and they're always top notch.
Jae is originally from Jacksonville, FL. Before NOC, she had a 10-year career in the US Postal Service, and has held positions in sales and marketing. She started as a server at NOC's River's End Restaurant, and now her qualifications include Wilderness First Aid and River Rescue Certification-Pro. Her hobbies are paddling (of course!), mountain biking, and backpacking.
Tosh Arwood
Tosh began his career at NOC in our retail department as a Paddlesports Product Manager. In that role, Tosh was responsible for all paddlesports product offerings, ordering and replenishment, and sales in the NOC Outfitter's Store – one of the nation's leading paddlesports specialty retailers – where he controlled millions of dollars of inventory.
Tosh is now NOC's Paddling School Manager, where he oversees the largest whitewater paddling school in the world. He holds numerous certifications including ACA Kayak Instructor Level 4 and Rescue 3 WRT-A and SRT-A. Tosh's career revolves around his true passion for whitewater.
